When specifying more than one category together, three things matter most: height compatibility between the counter and the stools, circulation space behind the serving position, and finish coordination across the pieces.

Counter height determines stool height — get this wrong and the seating becomes uncomfortable regardless of how well it is made. Allow room behind the bar for someone to serve without other guests having to move. And where pieces sit in the same sightline, coordinating the finishes across them does more for the room than any individual piece can.

Lighting and electrical access are worth planning early, particularly for installations with integrated display lighting or where equipment will sit on or near the counter.
